MY MILANO DIARY

22:43

Just came back from Milano and I can tell you that I fell in love with this city. Gelatos, pizzas, pastas, fashion brands, I just love everything about this Italian city. If you've ever dreamed to visit Milano, I'm gonna give you my tips and favorite addresses/places. My friend and I stayed there 3 days and 2 nights. We booked an Airbnb flat at Porta Venezia, which is a great area if you want to get away from the tourist zones and it's near the center.

We arrived there early in the morning, at about 8 o'clock so we decided to have breakfast before visiting. We stopped at Granaio which is not far from the Duomo. It's a nice place if you want to brunch, or just grab a coffee. Moreover it's not that expensive. Then, we wanted to visit the museums at the Castello Sforza, but unfortunately it was closed so we just walked around a bit in the park. Since it was sunny, it was really pleasant. Instead of visiting the castle, we went to the Prada Foundation, a contemporary art gallery. It was unexpected but we enjoyed our visit. In the evening, we decided to go out and we had a drink at the Terrazza Aperol. The view from there is really stunning. However, the waitresses were a bit rude.

The next day, we entered the duomo and went upstairs to see the view that the roof of the duomo offered. It was splendid and breathtaking. I totally recommend you to go into the duomo. It was around 11 euros. Before going to others churches, we went to Panini Durini and we took a breakfast. One word, delicious. Did you know that the painting of the Last Supper was at Santa Maria Delle Grazie, we couldn't make it because all the tickets to see it were sold out. So if you plan to visit this basilica, book your tickets in advance. If you want to go out and eat in a nice Italian restaurant, you have to go to Navigli, the canal and lights give a romantic vibe there and it's so cute. We ate a risotto and a tiramisu that night (so cliché but I had to taste real Italian food).

On the last day, we went shopping at the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, via Montenapoleone and we got lost at Corso Garibaldi. Don't you think the best way to visit and discover a place is to get lost in it ? You always find beautiful streets and buildings. If you want a break because your feet hurt (yep, they will), sit down at the Gucci Café, which is my fave, into the Galleria or just eat a gelato at Savini or Cioccolati Italiani. They're so good. Then we went to La Rinascente to spot some designer goods. To conclude, I really enjoyed my trip to Milano, I think it's a good city and three days are long enough to discover the city. If you go there, go to Lake Como as well, it's not that far and it's beautiful. Can't wait to go to Roma in October.
