MY OSAKA DIARY

13:47

Hello everyone, last summer I finally went to the country of my dreams... *drum rolls* JAPAN ! Indeed, my cousin and I decided to go on a road trip together. We first flew to Osaka, then we visited Nara, Kyoto and the big Tokyo. I thought it would be better to write different articles on those cities so that you could see more pictures of my trip. So let me guide through Osaka first ! Let's go !

We chose to rant a room in a hotel near a metro station and not far away from the center. As soon as we let our luggage in our room, we were so hungry and desperate to see Osaka by night that we decided to go to Dotonbori, an area where you can find all the street food that you've ever wished for. Before stuffing ourselves with some delicious food, we experienced something really weird in the metro: a guy couldn't stop looking at us. Since we thought Japan was a safer place, we immediately returned to our senses. Danger is anywhere. Even when we changed seats, he followed us. My cousin was a bit scared but I literally was far from seeing him as a weirdo. I only thought that we could have made a mistake and that we couldn't sit where we were. Anyway, a cute Japanese girl ended up asking us if everything was okay and then we went down.

Dotonbori by night is a MUST-SEE. We tried our first Takoyakis and Melon pan then we walked along the little river. Our heads were literally spinning watching all of the billboards and the crowd haha. The weather was HOT but it never rained so let's considered ourselves really lucky.

To put it in a nutshell, we really enjoyed our two days in Osaka plus we ate delicious food. I'd definitely go back there to discover Nakazaki-cho all over again since it's been my favorite district in the city. I also might want to go to Universal Studios so that I could compare it with Los Angeles's.

What you must see if you visit Osaka:

- Dotonbori and Namba, so crowded but if you wanna go shopping, eat street food and see the neon lights, this is the place.
- Osaka castle
- Shinsekai or "The New World " with the Tsûtenkaku tower
- Shîtenno-ji, the most ancient buddhist temple in Japan
- Den den town, which you could compare to Akihabara in Tokyo
- Nakazaki-cho, a non touristic area where you can find cute coffee shops like Picco Latte and organic restaurants. We really liked hanging out there especially because it felt more authentic.

What you must taste:

- The "oh so famous" Takoyakis, ball-shaped Japanese snack filled with minced or diced octopus, tempura scraps, pickled ginger and green onions aka DELISH
- Okonomiyaki, also known as the Japanese omelette or pizza (I'm still wondering why since okonomiyakis have nothing to do with pizzas but anyway), a savory pancake filled with different ingredients like: cabbage, meat, octopus, squid and so on with a sauce... It's a specialty from Osaka, so you definitely have to try it there.

Don't hesitate to give other advice in the comment section if you went there.
